Framer lets you design and publish animated websites without coding, with CMS, SEO and hosting: free, then from $10/month (Basic) and $30/month (Pro). Very low Trustpilot rating (1.5/5 from 145 reviews), mostly because of billing and cancellation.

Framer is a website builder with a visual editor close to design software: you assemble your pages, add animations and interactions, adjust each screen size, then publish without writing code. A built-in CMS handles blogs and project pages, SEO is set in the editor and hosting is included.
For a freelancer, it is mainly a tool for portfolios, landing pages and polished showcase sites, especially for designers. It is not the simplest solution on the market (see Carrd for a single page) nor an extension ecosystem like WordPress.
Here is what Framer's pricing page shows (checked in October 2026, in dollars). The Free plan is $0: Framer domain, 1 GB of bandwidth, page design and 500 AI credits to try. Basic is shown at $10 per month: custom domain, 2 CMS collections, 50 GB of bandwidth, built-in SEO. Pro is shown at $30 per month: 10 CMS collections, 100 GB of bandwidth, redirects, a staging environment and branches with previews. Extra editors cost $20 per month each, viewers are free, and Enterprise is on quote.
Two important points. Framer states that all prices are monthly and billed according to the cycle chosen at checkout, with a domain offered the first year on annual plans: check the price actually charged at confirmation. And limits (pages, CMS collections, elements, bandwidth) can lead to extra costs beyond the quotas, according to the grid.
Through our partner link, an offer of 3 months of subscription on an annual plan is planned, with a code to enter at checkout. We could not verify it on the official site: check that it applies before paying, and read the terms on the Framer deal page.
A portfolio with animations, a landing page for an offer, a showcase site with a blog, or a client's site with redirects and a test environment on the Pro plan. The free plan lets you design and publish on a Framer domain, which is enough to judge the editor before paying.
On Trustpilot, Framer shows 1.5/5 ("Bad") from 145 reviews as of October 7, 2026, including 77 in the last twelve months. We did not find a usable Google listing. The recurring themes are price, subscription, customer service, refunds and billing: users report being billed repeatedly and having trouble cancelling their subscription.
To read this rating with some distance: according to Trustpilot, Framer has not replied to negative reviews and has not recently invited its customers to leave a review, which mostly lets the unhappy speak. This rating targets billing, not the quality of the editor, which many users otherwise appreciate. But it justifies caution: these are testimonials, which we cannot verify individually.
Three reservations. Billing first: the reviews describe difficulties cancelling and getting refunds, so note your renewal date and check the cancellation procedure before paying. Then the rising cost: extra pages, CMS collections and bandwidth are billed beyond the quotas. Finally the learning curve: the editor is powerful but takes time for advanced features.

Framer lets you publish a polished, animated site very quickly, with CMS, SEO and hosting, for an entry price of $10 per month. We recommend it to designers and creative freelancers who want a modern result without a developer. But the Trustpilot reviews are very bad (1.5/5 from 145 reviews, with no reply from the company) and denounce billing and the difficulty of cancelling: read the billing cycle carefully and try the free plan before subscribing.

Try FramerFramer shows 1.5/5 ("Bad") on Trustpilot from 145 reviews (as of October 7, 2026), including 77 in the last twelve months. The criticism concerns billing, cancellation and refunds. Framer has not replied to negative reviews and does not invite its customers to leave reviews, which weighs on the rating. We did not find a usable Google listing.
The Free plan is $0 (Framer domain, 1 GB of bandwidth). Basic is shown at $10 per month and Pro at $30 per month, with a custom domain offered for one year on annual billing; extra editors cost $20 per month. Prices are monthly and billed according to the cycle chosen at checkout (Framer pricing page, October 2026).
There is a free plan to design and publish on a Framer domain, with 1 GB of bandwidth and AI credits to try. A custom domain, more CMS and more bandwidth require a paid plan.
Read the billing cycle you chose (monthly or annual) before confirming, note the renewal date and try the free plan first. Framer states that prices are monthly and billed according to the cycle selected at checkout; also check the cancellation procedure before subscribing.
Both build sites without coding, with CMS and hosting. To compare the options, see our Webflow review, our Carrd review for a simple page, or our comparison for building a website.
