Our detailed review

What is Collective Work in 2026?

Collective (collective.work) is no longer quite the platform still often described online. It is a French company, so it is aimed at activities registered in France. Its home page now presents Sherlock, an AI sourcing agent for recruiters: you give it a job description, an informal brief or an ideal candidate, and it searches and filters profiles among, according to Collective, more than 800 million profiles from more than 30 public sources.

For a freelancer, what remains useful is found in the site's navigation: a "Find a job" tab with a job board of freelance assignments (daily rate shown, quick application), and a profile that recruiters can find. It is therefore one channel among others, rather than a framework that handles your contract, your invoicing and your payment.

Fees: 0% shown, but no pricing on the freelance side

The freelance listings we looked at mention 0% commission. However, Collective's pricing page only concerns recruiters (checked in October 2026): a Free plan with limited AI searches, Basic at €95 per seat per month billed annually (€119 monthly), Start at €135 (€169 monthly) and custom Pro, with a 20% discount on annual billing.

We found no pricing on the freelance side, nor a page describing any invoicing or payment service. Before signing up, check on the site what applies to your case: this is what matters if you were counting on Collective to secure your payments.

How it works for a freelancer

You create a profile, browse the listings, and apply with quick application. The profile also makes your listing findable by recruiters who use the platform, including through the sourcing AI. Listings show a daily rate, such as an assignment at €400 to €800 per day, and a location or working mode.

Do not count on an automatic flow of opportunities: everything depends on recruiters' demand for your profession. As with any platform of this kind, it is better to make it one channel among others.

What users say

Public reviews are very rare. Trustpilot shows 3.1/5 ("Average") from only 4 reviews as of October 7, 2026, including 2 in the last twelve months, and we did not find a usable Google listing. No trend can be drawn from it. The two candidate reviews we read mention complicated follow-up, applications left without a reply (one person mentions one reply out of more than 60 applications) and recruiters who do not always see applications.

According to Trustpilot, Collective has not invited its customers to leave a review: the reviews are therefore not representative. The recruiter testimonial shown on Collective's site is positive, but it comes from the vendor.

What we like less

Three reservations. First the change of direction: the offer put forward targets recruiters, which can unsettle a freelancer who expected a network of freelancers. Then the lack of feedback: few reviews, and those that exist mention applications without replies. Finally the absence of an announced framework for payment or invoicing on the freelance side, where other platforms make it a central argument.

What users say

Ratings and feedback from public platforms, not a FreelanceKit score

Our verdict

Collective has changed its face: it is now a recruiting platform with an AI sourcing agent, whose freelance job board shows 0% commission. We recommend it as one channel among others to showcase your profile and respond to listings, not as a reliable source of assignments: the few public reviews from candidates mention few replies. No pricing is published on the freelance side, only on the recruiter side.

Frequently asked questions about Collective (formerly Collective Work)

There are very few public reviews: Trustpilot shows 3.1/5 from only 4 reviews (as of October 7, 2026), with candidates regretting the lack of replies. We did not find a usable Google listing. Try it yourself rather than judging from these ratings.

The freelance listings we looked at mention 0% commission. The prices published by Collective concern recruiters: a free plan, Basic at €95 per seat per month billed annually (€119 monthly), Start at €135 (€169) and custom Pro. We found no pricing on the freelance side (October 2026).

Both, but the emphasis has changed: the home page mainly presents Sherlock, an AI sourcing agent for recruiters. On the freelance side, there is a job board with quick application and a profile visible to recruiters.

You sign up, complete your profile and respond to listings with quick application. Candidate reviews report that replies are rare: plan to apply to several listings and not depend on this one channel.
