Newsletters, automations, forms and landing pages in one simple tool, with a free plan to start your list

MailerLite is an email marketing platform that brings your newsletters, automations, signup forms, landing pages and even a small website together in one tool. Its promise is in its name: staying "lite", meaning easy to pick up, with a free plan to start without a credit card and paid plans that unlock every feature. You only pay based on the size of your list and your sending volume. Data is hosted in the European Union.
Freelancers, solopreneurs and creators who want to launch a newsletter, automate a welcome sequence or sell a digital product without spending hours in a complex marketing tool. If you are starting your list from scratch, the free plan will carry you for a good while. If what you mostly want is a paid newsletter with cross-recommendations between writers, look at Beehiiv or Substack instead. And if you need SMS, chat and a CRM in the same tool, Brevo is more complete.
The Comfort and Power price then goes up by tier based on your number of active subscribers; yearly billing saves 10%. Prices before tax. Prices checked on mailerlite.com in November 2026.
At FreelanceKit, we picked MailerLite because it is one of the few email tools where a freelancer can do everything alone, from the form to the automation, without reading a manual. The free plan is a real plan, not a crippled demo, and the paid plans hide no feature behind a higher tier: you pay for your list, not for options. Hosting data in Europe is a plus for a freelancer bound by GDPR.
The weak point to know: the 250-subscriber limit of the free plan comes fast, and beyond it sending is locked until you upgrade. Support is limited to the knowledge base as long as you do not pay, and 24/7 chat only exists on Power. Finally, prices are in dollars and go up automatically by tier as soon as your list passes your plan's limit.

Weaknesses
MailerLite is an email marketing platform that brings together newsletters, automations, signup forms, landing pages, websites and digital product sales. It is known for its simplicity and its free plan, and targets solopreneurs, creators and small teams.
The Free plan is $0 up to 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month. The Comfort plan starts at $12 a month ($10.80 a month billed yearly, i.e. $129.60 a year) for 500 subscribers and 5,000 emails a month. The Power plan starts at $25 a month ($22.50 a month billed yearly, i.e. $270 a year) for 500 subscribers with unlimited emails. The price then grows with your number of active subscribers. A custom Enterprise plan exists above 200,000 subscribers. Prices checked on mailerlite.com in November 2026.
Up to 250 subscribers, 2,500 emails a month, 2 users, 3 active automations, 3 active forms, 1 website and 1 landing page, 1 digital product, and the three email editors. Every new account also gets a 14-day trial of premium features, with no credit card. As soon as your list passes 250 active subscribers, sending is locked until you upgrade.
Comfort gives you the whole tool with sensible limits: 50 automations, 10 forms, 10 sites, 5 digital products, 3 users and an email volume equal to 10 times the ceiling of your subscriber tier. Power removes those limits (unlimited emails, automations, forms, sites, users), adds multiple automation triggers and 24/7 live chat.
By the number of active subscribers, counted cumulatively over each billing cycle: an address that was active at any point in the cycle counts even if you delete it later. Unsubscribed and bounced addresses do not count. On a paid plan, the tier and the bill go up automatically when you pass the limit.
